Salvage Repair of a Nickel Alloy Discharge Nozzle Assembly for the Aerospace Industry

At Component Repair Management, we are proud to provide flexible machine shop services from Muskegon, Michigan. When a customer in the aerospace industry needed salvage repair of a nickel alloy discharge nozzle assembly, we were pleased to take on this project. Using C242 nickel alloy for the frame and C263 nickel alloy for the body, we welded, blended, and brazed the material to perform all the needed repairs, with abrasive blasting to finish the project. When the repair was complete, the part measured 5.125" long by 6.500" wide, with tightest tolerances of ± 0.0035". Fluorescent penetrant inspection was done throughout the repair process to ensure quality. This repair was done to precise customer specifications and to Rolls-Royce standards, and was delivered in a turnaround time of just 2 – 3 weeks. We repair 500 of these assemblies per year for this client, and our skills in repairing discharge nozzles are applicable to many other turbine engine models.
